Description
Bournemouth University, UK’s number 1 new university in 2009-10 (Guardian Education hired Brothers Services in Summer 2009 for their new Executive Business Centre, a state-of-art seven storeyed facility in the heart of Bournemouth.
Challenge
To clear away all the debris clearing up the site, cleaning all floor levels and floor sealing. Also requested to do some external work on the windows and cladding. The work was to be done from a seven storeyed facility across 15000 square feet.
The task was required to be completed in a record five days time.
Operation
We organised a dedicated team of 10 highly motivated staff who worked non-stop for more than ten hours at a time per day to deliver an impeccable service. We used appropriate materials and machinery to deliver a meticulous service. We encountered difficulty in removing sticky surfaces but successfully completed the task with specific solvent chemicals and by patient laborious task force.
Although the Health & Safety was an initial issue due to the size and height of the site we planned it well by providing staff with CSCS card, one First-Aider supervisor, risk assessment, method of statement and proper personal protection equipment. Staff had 3 breaks of 20 minutes each throughout the day which motivated and gave them focus to finish the work at a high standard.
Result
We were highly commended for completing the project to a very high standard in a record five days time.
